職場交往初次見面的禮節(jié)
學(xué)英語會話的朋友,大都知道初次被人引薦時,要向?qū)Ψ絾柡?quot;How do you do?"這句問候語雖然是疑問句(interrogative)的形式,但事實上如同敘述句(statement),句尾語調(diào)要下降,對方的回答也總是重復(fù)一遍"How do you do?"時間許可的話可以再加一句 "I'm glad to meet you." 替初次見面的人互相介紹時,一般的順序是這樣的:
1. 把男士介紹給女士,因為這表示女士為尊。例如:"Mrs. Green, may
I introduce Mr. Brown?" 或:"Mrs. Green, this is Mr. Brown." 或:"Mrs. Green, Mr. Brown."也可以.
2. 把陪客(或位卑年幼者)介紹給主客(或位尊年高者),即先說主客的名字,再說陪客的名字。
3. 平輩間的聚會,彼此間直呼其名的(on a first-name basis) ,可作如下的介紹:"Helen (Green), this is Peter(Brown)."
被介紹的.男士,彼此之間通常握手為禮。女士彼此之間通常不握手。女士和男士之間,必須由女士先伸出手,男士才可輕握一下為禮。有些女士不習(xí)慣握手,她們不伸手時,也不表示失禮,男士切莫著急。 Host: Mrs. Green, I'd like to introduce my boss, Mr. Brown. Mrs. Green: How do you do?
Mr. Brown: How do you do?I'm very glad to meet you. Mrs. Green: Nice to meet you, too.
結(jié)語:
男士在座而有女客進入時,男士應(yīng)起立,一直等到那位女士入座或離去時,男士才可恢復(fù)入座。如果后進來的男士被主人帶到原先在座的男士們面前一一介紹時,在座的男士也應(yīng)起立握手為禮。
「約」而后「會」
西方人的慣例,不管是公事或私事,在拜訪之前一定要事先約好(make an appointment),只有至親好友(真正好朋友),才有資格做「不速之客」(drop in without notice )。在公事上,主管之間的約會常由秘書(secretaries)排定。 Secretary: Good morning. I'm Mr. Brown's secretary. What can I do for you?
Visitor: I am Peter Smith of the ABC Company. I have an appointment with Mr. Brown.
Secretary: Mr. Brown is on the phone right now. Would you please wait a few moments? Visitor: Certainly? Secretary: Please have a seat. Visitor: Thank you. ****
Secretary: (to Mr. Brown) Mr. Smith is here for his nine o'clock appointment. May I bring him in? Mr. Brown: Yes, please do.
Secretary: (to Mr. Smith) Please come with me, Mr. Smith.
