模板一:看體育節(jié)目不可過長
1.題目
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: spending a lot of time watching sports on TV and following their favorite team will have negative impact on one’s life. 重復(fù)2013.2.15NA
2.英文例文
Every country has a sport that they consider a national pastime. Following your favorite sport or sport team is common in every country. Major sports like basketball and soccer are million dollar industries. While I enjoy watching sports, I believe that people in general spend too much time following sports, especially watching them on the television.
In general I don’t like watching sports on the television. I love sports, but I would much rather be watching a soccer match live than sitting inside and watching. I don’t really enjoy professional sports, actually. I think the players are paid too much money and as a result, tickets to see them play are sold at astronomically high prices. I guess I can watch those games on TV for free, but there is something about watching a game live that makes it so much more interesting. Watching the game in the stadium, with thousands cheering alongside of you, is an experience that can’t be reproduced in your living room.
I also think people become too invested in rooting for a specific team. For example, during soccer matches, fans crowd pubs and bars to watch. During these matches, fans get so into the game that they sometimes get out of control. Bar fights between fans of rival teams frequently occur, and can sometimes spill into the streets, causing riots and the destruction of property. I think investing that much emotion into a game on television is a bit extreme, and creates an overall negative environment around sports.
Another negative effect of fans becoming too involved in following sports is gambling. In addition to the billions of dollars poured into the professional sports industry, thousands if not millions of dollars are used in betting on sports teams. Major gambling on professional sports changes the entire spirit of sport competition. Players and referees alike are paid off so the outcome of the game is in favor of the bookkeepers. Rigging the game is contrary to the purpose of sports competitions. The winning team or player is the one with the best skills and ability in that moment. Making it about money destroys that element of the sport. When people invest too much time and money into sports, I think the whole meaning of the game is changed for the worse.
The best way to enjoy a sport is to actively participate yourself. Whether it is playing in the game yourself, or watching on the sidelines, getting involved in the sport directly is much more rewarding than watching on the television. Becoming obsessed with following a team or sport can be harmful to the overall positive spirit of sports. (442 words, Anna)

The expression “Never, never give up” means to keep trying and never stop working for your goals. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
俗話“永不,永不言棄”意思是為了你的目標(biāo)不斷嘗試不斷努力。你是否同意這個觀點?用具體的原因和例子闡明你的觀點。
2.英文例文
“If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” These are wise words. One should never give up. There is always another opportunity, another goal, or another option.
Once I ran for president of my class. Unfortunately, I lost. I lost because I did not promote myself enough. I looked at my mistakes and decided how to correct them. The following year, I ran for president again. This time I gave speeches, called voters on the phone, and banded out brochures. This time I won. Never give up. There is always another opportunity.
Once I wanted to study medicine. Unfortunately, I didn’t like science. I failed all my science courses at school. Then I realized that what I liked about medicine was helping people. I changed my goal from healing people to helping people. Now, I’m studying psychology. There is always another goal.
Once I wanted to talk with my friend. Unfortunately, his computer was down and I couldn’t e-mail him. His phone line was busy so I couldn’t call him. Mail would take too long so I couldn’t write him. Since I really wanted to talk with him. I got on the bus and went across town to visit him. There is always another option.
If you give up, you might as well die. My advice is to always look for another opportunity, another goal, or another option. There is always something else. Don’t give up.
模板三:善意的謊言

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Sometimes it is better not to tell the truth .Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.
2.英文例文
I agree that sometimes it is better not to tell the truth. In some cases the truth is going to hurt someone and no good will be gained by it. If so, then I don't think that person should be told the truth. There are times when a person needs to know the truth in order to make an important decision, There are also times when telling the truth is the only way to help someone who's being self-destructive. However, often telling the truth only benefits the teller, not the person being told.
If someone has said something nasty about a person, those words don't need to be repeated. However, what if a person has told a shameful secret to a friend, and that friend has told the secret to others? Then that person needs to know that she can't trust her friend, Otherwise ,she might tell that friend other secrets.
What if someone is doing something self-destructive, like partying all night in college instead of studying? Then he needs to be told that this behavior is upsetting his friend who are worried about him. However, if he skips class and teacher asks his friend why he isn't there, it’s not necessary for the friend to tell the truth. He doesn't have to be, but he also doesn't have to give information about his friend's behavior. Sometimes people needs to know the truth before they can make an important decision. Suppose you're selling your house and you know there's water in the basement. Then you should tell the truth about that to anyone interesting in buying your house. If you don’t, you could be in trouble legally as well as ethically! However, you don't need to tell the truth about the cranky neighbor who lives next door. The neighbor may not be as cranky with someone else as he was with you. Sometimes It's better not to tell.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? People should take several different kinds of job before they take a career in a long term.
2.英文例文
Today’s economy is diverse and full of opportunities. While there are some people that are able to study a subject or skill and then upon graduation jump right into their career, more and more people are choosing a less traditional path to their careers. Before starting their careers, they try many different kinds of jobs. I believe having many different kinds of jobs helps establish a foundation for success in one’s future career.
The most compelling reason that recent graduates nowadays are choosing to works many different kinds of jobs is because it helps them figure out what they truly want to do. People are realizing that if you find a career you love, you will not have to work a day in your life. In the long run, this is a very smart move. If people take the time to test out many different jobs, they will know which one is the job they want to do for the rest of their lives. I know many people in older generations that talk about how they did not have a choice in their career. They always explain how they started teaching or nursing simply because that was the best option. They are not happy with their careers and with regret that they could did not choose the best career. Working many jobs helps young workers determine their future careers.
In addition, gaining experience in many different kinds of jobs helps make people more competitive. When companies hire employees, they look for applicants with diverse backgrounds and a range of experiences. This is practical business sense, since a person with many different experiences can be expected to do many different kinds of jobs. For example, an information technology company cannot just hire employees who know about computers. They must hire people who are familiar with the content. If the company is responsible for creating an educational database for history teachers, having employees who have had prior experience in education and history are the most valuable. By holding many different jobs before starting a career, a person can be more competitive in the job market.
Once you start your career, having a diverse background will help you accomplish more with your job. For example, my father first worked as a waiter before he became a writer for an advertisement agency. One of his first accounts was for the restaurant T.G.I.F. My father used his experience as a waiter as inspiration for the advertisement campaign they ran. The restaurant was so pleased with my father’s work that they signed an exclusive contract with his company. Soon after that he was promoted and later went on to become the youngest manager of the creative department in the history of this advertising agency. Using knowledge from past jobs gives you the perspective to rise quickly in your career.
Holding many different jobs before starting your career is a smart thing to do. Building your resume with a range of jobs helps you decide which career is best for you. The various experiences not only make you more competitive than other job applicants, but it also helps you be a more valuable and resourceful employee.
模板五:教學(xué)評估體系是否合理
1.題目
Schools should ask students to evaluate their teachers. Do you agree or disagree? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
學(xué)校要求學(xué)生對他們的老師進行教學(xué)評估,你是否同意這種做法?用具體的原因和例子闡明你的觀點。
2.英文例文
I think it’s a good idea for schools to ask students to evaluate their teachers. This informs teachers of how students react both to their teaching methods and to them as individuals. Teachers can weigh the criticisms and change what they think needs to be changed. Praise from students is also valuable. It can reinforce teachers’ opinions about how they’re teaching and give them confidence.
It’s also helpful for school administrators to hear what students think about their teachers. It keeps administrators in touch with what’s going on in the school. It also gives them some idea of which teachers effectively reach the students. However, good administrators know that student evaluations need to be reviewed with a keen eye for prejudice and adolescent attitudes. After all, and evaluation is a good way for students to get back at teachers who expect more of them than they want to give.
Evaluating teachers is also a good exercise for the students. They have to organize their thoughts about what they think of their teachers. In that way, they pinpoint for themselves what they expect of those teachers. They begin to understand what they value in a teacher and what is phony or useless. Evaluating their teachers is also a way for students to think about how they would evaluate themselves. Are they working as hard as they should in class? Is that why their teachers are sometimes critical of their work? Isn’t that what a teacher should do—push us to try harder? Thinking about these things can help students do better in class. At the very least, they will understand better what is expected of them.
Student evaluations of teachers also make students feel as if they have a voice in what happens in their schools. It makes them feel as if they’re part of the education process when their opinion is valued by the administration. Finally, it teaches them responsibility.

Some people think that human needs for farmland, housing, and industry are more important that saving land for endangered animals. Do you agree or disagree with this point of view? Why or why not? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
有些人認(rèn)為人類所需的農(nóng)田、住房和工業(yè)用地比為瀕危動物所留的家園更重要。你同意這種觀點嗎?為什么或為什么不?用具體的原因和例子闡述你的觀點。
2.英文例文
In the past, there have been many endangered animals. Now they are extinct. Does it matter? Has our environment been affected by their absence? Has the quality of our own life been changed? The answer to these questions is “Yes.”
Yes. It does matter if we destroy an endangered species habitat to develop more farmland, housing or industrial parks. There is a delicate balance of nature. If one small part is removed, it will affect all the other parts. For example, if certain trees are cut down, bats will have no place to roost. If they cannot roost, they cannot breed. If there are no bats, there will be no animal, or bird to eat certain insects that plague our crops.
Yes. Our environment has been affected by the absence of certain animals. Certain flowers are pollinated by butterflies, which migrate from Canada to Mexico. Some of the breeding grounds of these butterflies were destroyed. Now these flowers are disappearing from certain areas. We will no longer be able to enjoy their beauty.
Yes. The quality of our life has been changed America used to be covered with giant trees. Now we have to visit them in one small park. Rain forests around the world are being cut down to make room for humans. We will never be able to see or study this fragile ecosystem.
I would encourage us humans to look for other alternatives for our farmlands, housing, and industries. We have alternatives; the animals do not.
模板七:你是否贊成你家附近建購物中心
1.題目
It has recently been announced that large shopping center may be built in your neighborhood. Do you support or oppose this plan? Why? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.
有消息稱你家附近要新一個大的購物中心,你是否贊成這個規(guī)劃?為什么?用具體的原因細致闡明你的觀點。
2.英文例文
There would be both advantages and disadvantages to having a shopping center built in my neighborhood. One advantage would be the convenience. I would like to have all those stores close by. Shopping would be much easier and faster because I wouldn't have to drive great distances to get to the stores.
A shopping center would mean more choices, because there would be more stores selling different products. I might have a movie theater nearby, because so many shopping centers these days include movie theaters in their plans. Most shopping centers also have restaurants and a food court. That means a greater variety of places to eat in our area.
Having a shopping center built in the neighborhood would also mean more jobs for the community. Initially, these jobs would be in the building of the center. Later the jobs would be in the stores, theaters, and food establishments.
Of course, these would be some disadvantages, too. Probably the biggest problem would be traffic. A lot of people would be coming to the shopping center. They’d drive through our neighborhood to get to the center. In addition, if there wasn't enough parking at the center, they might look for parking space near our homes.
A shopping center might also invite more crime into our neighborhood. Parking lots after dark are a big temptation to robbers. They know people are there with money to spend. The shopping center might also become a place where unruly teenagers would gather. This could cause trouble. Our town would need a community center for them to go to instead.
On the whole, though, I think my neighborhood should support having a shopping center built here, It would bring more variety to our shopping, give us the opportunity to amuse ourselves at movies theaters and restaurants, and bring more jobs into the area.
