英文面試常問(wèn)的問(wèn)題(一)
通常認(rèn)為,求職者在英語(yǔ)面試時(shí),最重要的原則是誠(chéng)實(shí)(honesty),也就是有一說(shuō)一,有二說(shuō)二,既不夸大,也不縮小,這樣實(shí)話實(shí)說(shuō),往往可以贏得人事經(jīng)理的好感。但是,求職者如果真的按照誠(chéng)實(shí)原則去面試,99%會(huì)失敗。
首先我要聲明,為人處世要誠(chéng)實(shí),這個(gè)原則我是贊同的,沒(méi)有異議。但求職者的面試,則屬于一種比較特殊的情況,需要采取一定的談話技巧。比如人事經(jīng)理問(wèn)你:Why did you leave your last job?(你為什么要辭去以前的工作),如果按照誠(chéng)實(shí)原則,應(yīng)當(dāng)回答:我跟經(jīng)理合不來(lái),他快把我逼瘋啦,我必須離開(kāi)(請(qǐng)看下面)。但是這樣回答之后,你肯定會(huì)給人事經(jīng)理留下一個(gè)壞印象:這家伙可能是一個(gè)不太合群的人,他既然跟以前的上級(jí)合不來(lái),說(shuō)不定跟以后的上級(jí)也合不來(lái)。

對(duì)于這個(gè)問(wèn)題,正確的回答方法是:不要提及前任公司、前任經(jīng)理的任何缺點(diǎn),你可以隨便找一個(gè)其它方面的理由,比如公司太遠(yuǎn),上下班不方便等。在面試方面,我個(gè)人認(rèn)為,最重要的一個(gè)原則不是誠(chéng)實(shí),而是適度的恭維(moderate flattery),也就是適度地恭維你想應(yīng)聘的那家公司。因此對(duì)于這個(gè)問(wèn)題,按照恭維原則,應(yīng)當(dāng)回答:以前那家公司太小,沒(méi)有什么前途(請(qǐng)看下面),以此恭維應(yīng)聘公司是一家大公司,適合留在這里長(zhǎng)期工作。 字串5

再比如,人事經(jīng)理問(wèn)你:Why haven’t you found a job by now?(為什么你直到現(xiàn)在還沒(méi)有找到工作),如果按照誠(chéng)實(shí)原則,應(yīng)當(dāng)回答:現(xiàn)在找工作太難啦,我看上人家,人家卻看不上我。而按照恭維原則,應(yīng)當(dāng)回答:我對(duì)我以前的工作不太滿意,所以我辭職之后進(jìn)修去了,參加了一些培訓(xùn),讀了一些書(shū),現(xiàn)在我終于知道我應(yīng)當(dāng)去哪里了(請(qǐng)看下面),以此恭維應(yīng)聘公司是一個(gè)有檔次的地方,只有那些知書(shū)達(dá)理的人,才會(huì)認(rèn)識(shí)到它的價(jià)值。 字串8

當(dāng)然,這個(gè)問(wèn)題也可以這樣回答:我對(duì)選擇工作是非常挑剔的,我不想隨便找一個(gè)沒(méi)有挑戰(zhàn)性的工作(請(qǐng)看下面),以此恭維應(yīng)聘公司是一個(gè)有挑戰(zhàn)性的地方。
I have been very selective in looking for the right job and I don’t want to settle for one in which I will find myself unchallenged.
最后,如果人事經(jīng)理問(wèn)你:What kind of salary are you seeking?(你想要多少薪水),如果按照誠(chéng)實(shí)原則,應(yīng)當(dāng)回答:我想要5000大洋(這種回答是面試的大忌),而按照恭維原則,應(yīng)當(dāng)回答:I’ll consider the best offer you can make.(我會(huì)考慮您能提供的最高薪水),以此恭維應(yīng)聘公司有鑒賞力和洞察力,能夠根據(jù)一個(gè)職員的能力和經(jīng)驗(yàn),支付相應(yīng)的報(bào)酬。 字串6

1.Tell me about yourself.
這是面試問(wèn)題中的經(jīng)典頭道“開(kāi)胃菜”,主要考察求職者的個(gè)性是否符合公司的企業(yè)文化,所以回答時(shí)要盡量貼近這個(gè)公司的情況來(lái)推銷(xiāo)自己。比如這個(gè)公司屬于汽車(chē)行業(yè),那么你就該回答:“Driving is my hobby. I really love the feeling of running on the road and I take cars as my best friends.”要找到自己跟這個(gè)公司的切合點(diǎn),讓面試官了解你適合這個(gè)環(huán)境。
2.What are your three greatest strengths?
回答這個(gè)問(wèn)題時(shí)不可以只是簡(jiǎn)單回答:“I’m really organized, punctual and get along well with others.” 簡(jiǎn)潔、精煉找到這個(gè)公司所看重的特長(zhǎng),是回答這個(gè)問(wèn)題的關(guān)鍵。像要應(yīng)聘金融行業(yè),可以說(shuō):“I think my three strongest strengths are details-oriental, patient and cautious.”但如果應(yīng)聘者是一個(gè)銷(xiāo)售精英,可以說(shuō):“I think my strongest strengths are aggressive, hard working and communicative.”總之,需要考慮到應(yīng)聘公司及職務(wù)的需要來(lái)選擇表現(xiàn)自己的優(yōu)勢(shì)。
3.What are your three greatest weaknesses?
鐵蕓強(qiáng)調(diào),老板都愿意找到一個(gè)了解、熱愛(ài)工作,并能夠?yàn)楣緞?chuàng)造價(jià)值的員工。所以不要很誠(chéng)實(shí)地把自己的毛病都暴露出來(lái),而是要有策略地選擇一些能夠?yàn)樽约杭臃值娜秉c(diǎn)。比如:“I am a perfectionist and I pay very much attention to details. Sometimes I am quite captious.”
4.Why are you interested in working for our company?
此問(wèn)題主要考察應(yīng)聘者是否了解這個(gè)工作,或者是否真正有興趣,所以需要圍繞整個(gè)公司的具體情況,讓面試官知道你很清楚這個(gè)公司的運(yùn)營(yíng)模式,以及對(duì)這項(xiàng)工作非常積極。建議不要以“It seemed like a good career move.”或是“I haven't been able to find anything else interesting.”為開(kāi)始。如果能有一些實(shí)際回答的話,加分會(huì)更多。應(yīng)聘者可以這樣回答:“I read an article in the newspaper and was very impressed by ……”但是前提是你必須真的對(duì)這家公司作了研究,同時(shí)也要注意,不要讓面試官覺(jué)得你是為了討好面試官而言過(guò)其實(shí)。
5.Why did you leave your last job?
跳槽的原因可能是因?yàn)樯弦环莨ぷ鞣浅T愀,但面試并不是適合抱怨的場(chǎng)合,而且千萬(wàn)不要對(duì)現(xiàn)有或是過(guò)去的雇主或同事進(jìn)行這樣的評(píng)論:“I didn't agree with the company's direction.”“I got no recognition for my work.”“My boss was totally unreasonable.”鐵蕓建議,要從自身發(fā)展的角度出發(fā)來(lái)回答:“I love my last job and really learned a lot from it, but I need a new platform and bigger space to make my career successful.”總之,要讓面試官知道,以前的公司在你的眼中并非一錢(qián)不值,你是懷著感激來(lái)評(píng)價(jià)他們的。
6.If we hire you,how long will you stay with us?
老板想知道你會(huì)不會(huì)像離開(kāi)上一份工作那樣很快也離開(kāi)這家公司,你可以回答:“As long as my position here allows me to learn and to advance at a pace with my abilities. ”這樣就告訴老板,你是希望同公司一起成長(zhǎng),不會(huì)輕易地離開(kāi)。
