農(nóng)歷新年指中國及其他漢字文化圈地區(qū)的農(nóng)歷一月一日,傳統(tǒng)上稱為元旦(與中國現(xiàn)行的公歷元旦不同)、歲首、正旦,現(xiàn)在一般稱為新年、大年,口頭上亦稱為過年、度歲、慶新歲;是東亞許多國家和地區(qū)慶祝新年的主要節(jié)日。越南語稱為“T?t Nguyên ?án”(節(jié)元旦)、日語稱為“正月”(明治維新后改稱舊正月)、韓語稱為“??”(此乃固有詞,即新年之意)。
現(xiàn)時除了中國、朝鮮半島、越南、日本之外,蒙古、老撾、緬甸、柬埔寨、泰國、新加坡、馬來西亞、印度尼西亞等地都是最重要的節(jié)日之一。
一般認(rèn)為至少要到正月十五(上元節(jié))新年才結(jié)束,有些地方的新年慶;顒由踔恋秸麄正月完畢為止。春節(jié)與清明節(jié)、端午節(jié)、中秋節(jié)并稱為中國漢族的.四大傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日。
農(nóng)歷一年的最后一天(月大為30日,月小29日),稱之為“除夕”,除夕晚上全家人團(tuán)圓吃年夜飯(農(nóng)歷一年中最后一頓飯),年夜飯以后有發(fā)壓歲錢和熬年夜(守歲)的習(xí)俗,表示從農(nóng)歷上一年的最后一天守到下一年的第一天。
一般指除夕和正月初一,是一年的第一天,又叫陰歷年。但在民間,傳統(tǒng)意義上的春節(jié)是指從臘月初八的臘祭或臘月二十三或二十四的祭灶,一直到正月十五,其中以除夕和正月初一為高潮。在春節(jié)期間,中國的漢族和很多少數(shù)民族都要舉行各種活動以示慶祝。這些活動均以祭祀神佛、祭奠祖先、除舊布新、迎禧接福、祈求豐年為主要內(nèi)容;顒迂S富多彩,帶有濃郁的民族特色。
滿、蒙古、瑤、壯、白、高山、赫哲、哈尼、達(dá)斡爾、侗、黎等幾十個少數(shù)民族也有過春節(jié)的習(xí)俗,只是過節(jié)的形式各具自己的民族特色。
春節(jié)的名稱隨著時間而變化
春節(jié)不同時代有不同名稱。在先秦時叫“上日”、“元日”、“改歲”、“獻(xiàn)歲”等;到了兩漢時期,又被叫為“三朝”、“歲旦”、“正旦”、“正日”;魏晉南北朝時稱為“元辰”、“元日”、“元首”、 “歲朝”等;到了唐宋元明,則稱為“元旦”、“元”、“歲日”、“新正”、“新元”等;而清代,一直叫“元旦”或“元日”。
1911年12月31日,中華民國湖北軍政府在發(fā)布的《內(nèi)務(wù)部關(guān)于中華民國改用陽歷的通諭》中,明確將年節(jié)稱為“春節(jié)”。到1949年9月27日,中國人民政治協(xié)商會議第一屆全體會議進(jìn)一步明確農(nóng)歷正月初一稱為“春節(jié)”,“春節(jié)”之名正式列入中國節(jié)日法典。
在歷史上的不同朝代,春節(jié)的時間也不一樣。夏代以一月為一年之首;商代以十二月為歲首,周代以十一月為歲首,秦代以十月為歲首。西漢時,漢武帝下詔推行太初歷,才明確規(guī)定一月初一為歲首,以之為夏歷新年。
春節(jié)在公歷1月21日至2月20日之間游動。立春則一般在2月4日或2月5日。
