萬(wàn)圣節(jié)的習(xí)俗中英文

Pumpkin lanterns南瓜燈：
Pumpkins are on salein shops and supermarkets from as early as the beginning of October.
By the last week of October you can see pumpkin lanterns everywhere in shop windows and in people's houses.
Although British people used to use potatoes and turnips, now they use pumpkins to make Jack-o-lanterns unique to the Halloween season.
The name“Jack-o-lantern"comes from an Irish folktale about a man named Stingy Jack who, because of his bad nature, was doomed to roam the earth without a resting place and with only his lit lantern to light the way in the darkness.
從十月初開始南瓜就在商店里出售啦。到十月最后一周，南瓜燈隨處可見，商店櫥窗里或英國(guó)居民家里也會(huì)擺放南瓜燈。
雖然英國(guó)人過(guò)去也曾用土豆和蘿卜來(lái)刻南瓜燈，但是現(xiàn)在他們都用南瓜做萬(wàn)圣節(jié)特有的“杰克燈”了。
杰克這名字來(lái)自愛(ài)爾蘭民間故事中一個(gè)小氣鬼，由于他人品不好，所以死無(wú)去處，只能靠提著一個(gè)南瓜燈的亮光在黑暗中游蕩。
Trick or treating不給糖果就搗亂：
Children love this game! They dress up and then knock on the doors of people's houses in their neighbourhood asking for a ‘trick or treat’. The neighbour gives them chocolates, sweets or money as a ‘treat’.
If there is no treat, the children play a trick on the neighbour, for example, they might throw soap at the window.
It only happens once a year so even the stingiest adultsmightgive something to the kids as a treat!
孩子們可喜歡這個(gè)游戲啦!他們化了妝，接著就去鄰居家里敲門要“treat 款待”。一般來(lái)說(shuō)鄰居都會(huì)給孩子們一些巧克力、糖果或錢。

Across the UK, people throw parties to celebrate Halloween. The biggest Halloween party has to be in Sheffield at the end of October.
A lot of people go there to experience Fright Night. Can you image a party with about 40,000 people?
There are activities for people of all ages: fancy dress catwalk, urban dance, a monster in a fountain and a zombie garden, as well as the traditional apple bobbing and a competition for the best pumpkin lantern.

Apple bobbing咬蘋果：
This is a fun and competitive game which is very traditional. What you do is to place lots of apples in a large tub or a bowl of water - not too cold or too hot.
This is because the participants or competitors have to take a bite from one of the apples without using their hands.
Sometimes the participants are blindfolded, just to make it even more challenging and fun.
咬蘋果(Apple bobbing)是萬(wàn)圣節(jié)的一個(gè)有趣的.競(jìng)爭(zhēng)游戲，很傳統(tǒng)。你需要把很多蘋果放在大盆或大桶里，盛滿了水，水嗎要不冷也不熱因?yàn)閰①愓弑仨氃诓挥檬謳兔Φ那闆r下用嘴叼住蘋果咬一口。
有時(shí)候?yàn)榱俗層螒蚋y也更有趣還會(huì)把參賽人的眼睛蒙住。
【萬(wàn)圣節(jié)的習(xí)俗】
面具化裝
在古時(shí)候，如果有旱災(zāi)或是其它重大的災(zāi)難，人們便會(huì)帶上丑陋的面具，因?yàn)樗麄兒ε律钜惯�在外面游走的惡靈，如果晚上必須出門，便會(huì)戴上面具或用動(dòng)物的.皮毛裝飾自己，希望惡靈認(rèn)不出他們來(lái)，或被丑陋的面具嚇走。
后來(lái)敬畏鬼神的宗教意味逐漸轉(zhuǎn)薄，慢慢開始有小孩穿上鬼和精靈的衣服，出去嚇鄰居 trick or treat(不給糖，就搗蛋)，要大人請(qǐng)吃糖果的趣味習(xí)俗。
南瓜燈
在萬(wàn)圣節(jié)還有雕刻南瓜燈的習(xí)俗，這是一則趣味的愛(ài)爾蘭的民間傳說(shuō)。據(jù)說(shuō)有一個(gè)名叫杰克的酒鬼，他有一天邀請(qǐng)惡靈來(lái)一起喝酒，但喝完后卻沒(méi)錢付賬，他就設(shè)計(jì)要惡靈變成六便士 ( six pennies ) 來(lái)付酒錢，可是杰克又沒(méi)拿它來(lái)付錢，反而用一條銀紙鎮(zhèn)住惡靈讓它出不來(lái)。
惡靈苦苦哀求杰克放他出來(lái)并答應(yīng)不來(lái)嚇?biāo)Ⅱ}擾他，于是杰克就它出來(lái)，到了第二年萬(wàn)圣節(jié)，惡靈又與杰克達(dá)成協(xié)議，答應(yīng)這一年不會(huì)來(lái)騷擾杰克，但沒(méi)過(guò)多久杰克就過(guò)世了，這時(shí)天堂拒絕收容他，杰克只好到地獄報(bào)到，可是因?yàn)閻红`已經(jīng)答應(yīng)他這一年不騷擾他，所以也無(wú)法收容杰克。
天堂地獄都去不得，杰克怎么辦呢?而且路實(shí)在是太黑了，杰克也找不出路離開，這時(shí)惡靈就丟給他一塊已經(jīng)燒得通紅的煤炭讓他在黑暗的地獄中比較能看清楚路，杰克將這小塊媒炭灰燼放在一個(gè)打了許多洞的菜頭當(dāng)中，好讓它燒久一點(diǎn)。
根據(jù)這個(gè)傳說(shuō)，后來(lái)愛(ài)爾蘭人就用菜頭來(lái)制作他們所謂的"杰克燈籠"。但是當(dāng)移民們到了美國(guó)之后，發(fā)現(xiàn)新大陸的南瓜比菜頭普遍，于是改為用南瓜雕刻成各種鬼臉，然后在里面擺蠟燭了，這就是“南瓜燈”的由來(lái)。
